Regius Synfuels Coal to Liquids & Urea
Regius Synfuels is currently developing an integrated 10,000bpd clean diesel, gasoline and 415ktpa fertilizer Project in the Tete province of Mozambique.
The Project will produce 303,000 tons of ultra-clean burning Diesel, 114,000 tons of gasoline as well as 415,000 tons of high grade Urea (fertilizer) per annum, all highly sought-after products in the local & regional markets. The selected products serve to increase the efficiency of the overall plant, eliminate the carbon footprint and enhance the economics of the Project.
The Project will be an industry leader in environmental aspects using >50% less water than competing synfuels plants through its high operating efficiency & integration of carbon-sequestrating Urea fertilizer production.
Proven technology
The Project technology is designed by H&H (the ‘’H&H CTLU Process’’) licensing Clean Coal Technology South Africa’s (“CCTSA”) FT Reactor Technology. This process is predicated upon the proven FT Process which comprises a more efficient technology than that currently operated by Sasol in South Africa. The H&H CTLU Process will be deployed at a modular scale of two trains/phases of 5,000bpd, requiring shorter Project timelines and less capital; therefore, making it ideal for implementation in Mozambique.
The process incorporates key improvements that have been made to proven technology resulting in higher plant efficiency, zero CO₂, less carbon feed required and lower water dependency.
These improvements in FT Reactors & Process design have been successfully demonstrated by way of an operational plant in China whereby the reactors have been proven on a full commercial scale.
The H&H CTLU Process has an inherent cogeneration capability allowing multiple high value product streams namely Diesel, Gasoline Urea and Electricity.
